| Instructions:

1. |
Start by writing
the word VOTE in the middle of the mat with tape. (You can actually
write anything you want, candidate of choice, monogram, welcome etc.) |
| 2. |
On opposite
corners, tape off diagonal stripes, by laying the tape strips side
by side. This insures uniform stripe width. After you have covered
the area remove every other tape strip, but save the tape pieces,
as you will use these to mask the painted area, while applying the
2nd stripe color. |
| 3. |
Place a small
piece of tape on the back of each star to secure to mat, if you are
using stickers you can just apply them to the mat. |
|
 |

4. |
Apply your paint
with a foam brush by using a pouncing motion. I started with the white
as usually you work from light to dark colors. "Pounce" in all the
white stripes. |
| 5. |
While the white
stripes are drying I "pounced" in the blue over the center of the
mat, where the majority of the word VOTE is located and the stars
are. If you didn't use stickers, you might need to use your finger
to help hold the star cutouts in place. It is particularly important
to use an up and down pouncing motion in this area to insure you get
a crisp star out line. |
|
 |

6. |
After completing
the blue area, carefully reapply the strips of tape over the white
stripes. Remember you removed these earlier, so they should be pre-measured
and ready to use. |
| 7. |
Now remove the
tape strips that are covering the bare mat stripes. After you have
done this, being careful to not pull up the word VOTE, pounce in the
red paint. |
|
 |

8. |
Let project
dry, and then remove all tape. |

9. |
This is a fun
and fast project, and remember,
