Sugar Plum Ornament and Garland
Thursday, November 21, 2002

Supplies for Ornament:

  • 1 large artificial Sugar Plum
(Instructions for "Sugaring" Plum are included in the "Sugar Plum Wreath Project")
  • 1 yard ribbon of choice
  • 2 Pearl head corsage pins
  • Scissors
Instructions:
 1. Wrap the ribbon around the plum, secure the ribbon at the bottom with a pin.
 2. Loop the ribbon back and forth at the top to make a simple bow, plus a loop for a hanger.
 3. Secure at the top with a pin.

Supplies for Garland:

  • 3 small sugar plums
(These usually come on a branch)
  • 3 wired leaves
(I used the ones off the plums)
  • 2 Quince slices
  • 2-3 yards of ribbon of choice
    (I used a sheer)
  • 2 pieces of pine w/cone attached
Instructions:
 1. Cut plums from the branch leaving as much wire stem as possible.
 2. Pull leaves from plum branch.
 3. Find the center of the ribbon, make one small loop and wrap a plum to it using the wire stem. Now wrap in a leaf.
 4. Now holding the streamers together measure equal distance up each streamer and make a larger loop that will fit over the chair top. Wire in plum.
 5. Half way between each plum, wire in a Quince slice, using a wired leaf to anchor it.
 6. Cut piece of pine greenery with pine cone attached; wire right next to the end plums.
 7. Make a couple to hang on the tree or from doorway and I like to hang something from the dining room chairs.
