1. Base coat the entire box with the burgundy paint. Let dry completely. Since papier-mâché' is porous, make sure you allow ample time to dry.

2. Apply a coat of the Weathered Wood Medium to the outside bottom part of the box. Keeping in mind that the thicker the coat the larger the crackling will be. Let dry completely.

3. Apply the light Buttermilk to the section you put the Weathered Wood on. The paint will instantly start to crackle. (Remember you can't brush over the same place once the paint starts to dry without disturbing the medium. I recommend that you practice on a piece of cardboard just so you see how the medium reacts.) Let dry completely.

4. Apply Thick White glue to the outside rim of the lid, and also about 1" inside the edge of the lid. Now press strips of the sheet moss to cover the glue. Use pressure to insure good adhesion. Fill any empty places with little pieces of moss.

5. Glue the roses on next by putting a puddle of hot glue on the base of the rose and then set onto the lid. I outlined the moss and then filled in the middle.

6. Now glue little wisp of caspia between the moss and the roses.

8. Hint: If you can't find a heart box, just use a round one and use the moss and roses to create the heart on top by drawing a heart on top of the lid and gluing the moss around the shape. 9. I used dried roses but you could use a silk rosebud. 10. Happy Valentine's every one and have fun! DAZ |
