Memory Wire Jewelry Project
Monday, August 28, 2000

Supplies:
  1. Memory wire: 1 1/2 small loop for bracelet; 1 1/2 loops for necklace
  2. Seed beads of choice: For a random pattern and variety of beads I used the Trail Mix. There is a limitless variety of patterns you can achieve by using different bead combinations.
  3. Needlenose pliers or blunt nose pliers
  4. Small container to put beads in while you work. (i.e.., coffee can lid or I used one of those balls that knee-hi hose come in.)
Instructions:
1. Get wire the length you need for your project, since the wire is so strong, I recommend that you use your pliers to bend it back and forth until it breaks, otherwise it will severely dull your wire cutters.

2. Using your pliers bend a small loop in the very end of the wire, this keeps the beads from falling off the other as you work.

3. You can either string your beads in a random fashion as I did on the bracelet or you can establish a pattern, as I did in the necklace.

4. In making the necklace I used a uniform pattern. I did this by repeating the same pattern over and over. Once you reach the center, reverse the pattern. This will give you a symmetrical design. Notice I used a few larger beads, one in the center, two on each side of it and then two complimentary smaller beads 1 1/2 inches back from the center bead.

5. When you have finished your design, bend a loop at the end just like you did to start.

6. Have fun jewelry making and keep crafting. DAZ
