1. Lay one piece of paper on top of the other, then fold in half. 2. With the paper still together, round the corners off the top. This should leave an arch shape. |

3. With the paper still folded together locate the center of the bottom and cut a 3” slit from the middle bottom edge upward. 4. Separate the two pieces of paper. Keep them folded. Turn them so that the open edges face each other. By turning one of the pieces 45 degrees and over lapping the bottom you should get a heart shape. Using the over / under pattern weave the bottom strips together. You should get a checkerboard pattern and make a pocket inside the heart. |

5. After you have that completed use your glue to secure the overlapping strips on the outside. |

6. Glue strips of ribbon to the inside along the folded edge to make handles. 7. Embellish as you wish. A really easy way to decorate is to cut hearts out of the scraps of paper leftover from the sides. Now glue those cut outs on to the contrasting check. Glue on a bow or a button and fill with your favorite goodies. I chose Hershey’s Hugs & Kisses. Have fun, DAZ |
