Monday, February 12, 2001

Supplies:

  • Red cellophane or tissue paper, cut into 3” squares,
  • Green floral tape
  • 24-26gauge floral wire cut to 9”lengths
  • Hershey’s Kisses, 2 per rose
  • Silk rose leaf
  • Small piece of floral foam
  • Paper shred
  • Hot glue gun/glue
Instructions:
Use the instructions from the previous project, Feb.14, 2000,”A Heart Full of Hugs & Kisses”, to make the paper heart holder.
  • Place 2 Kisses bottom to bottom.
  • Now place the 2 Kisses in the center of the cellophane square and pull tight and twist.
  • Insert wire in the gathered cellophane, and start wrapping the twisted cellophane and wire with floral tape. Wrap about three inches down the wire tear off the tape. The wrapping requires a twirling motion; you may want to practice a couple of times before you start your first rose.
  • Start at the base of the “Rose” again wrapping with floral tape, only this time when you get about 2” down the stem lay the stem of the leaf against the wire and wrap in. Continue to wrap the wire with floral tape until it is completely covered.
  • Make 6-12 Kiss Roses.
  • Now place a small piece of floral foam in the Heart Holder (that you made using the instructions
  • from our previous project of “Feb 14, 2000, A HEART FULL OF HUGS & KISSES” ) You will need to glue it in.
  • Add a little shredded paper or excelsior to cover the foam and then insert the stems of the Kiss Roses into the foam creating a great little edible bouquet.
  • I hope you enjoy this project I think it will make your Valentine very HAPPY!
  • Have Fun, DAZ
