  • Tray w/water for flyspecking and veining

Instructions: (Let the kids help with this one, outside when the wind is not blowing)
 1. Cover area with paper, as this is a messy technique, you might want to wear and apron.
 2. Place the fern leaves on top of the napkin or runner in a random manner. Spray with the yellow dye.
 3. Now place the maple leaves throughout the fern leaves and spray with the orange dye.
 4. Place the final leaves on the runner and spray with red dye.
 5. Put a small amount of brown paint on a tray and thin with a small amount of water, now swiftly draw a line where the veins of the leaf would be.
 6. Spritz each vein lightly with water as you go.
 7. Let dry and then Flyspeck with brown paint by thinning the paint and gently tapping the brush across your finger to create dots of brown throughout the piece.
 8. Heat set according to the fabric instructions and the instructions on the dye.
Have a great fall and let the kids get in on this one!   DAZ
