Dried Fall Wreath
Monday, September 8, 2003

Supplies:

  • Wreath of your choice, I used a twig wreath, but you can use a grapevine or straw wreath
  • Assorted dried flowers and herbs: I used a mixture of natural and dyed
  • Pkg. of preserved oak leaves
  • Floral wire on the roll
  • Wire cutters
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
Instructions:

 1.
Make several bundles of dried flowers by cutting them into small clusters and wiring the stems together. The number of clusters you need will depend on how large your wreath is. You can mix the flowers together or make clusters a single type of flower only.

 2.
When you think you have enough clusters to go around the wreath, start gluing them in or you can use the paddle of wire and start wrapping the clusters onto the wreath. To do this you place a cluster down and then layer them on top of the stems of the previous cluster as you go. You may have to adjust the angle to get good coverage as you go. The idea is to keep all the clusters going in the same direction and cover all the wired stems.

 3.
Continue until you have completed the circle and none of the wreath shows through. If you are wiring, secure the wire and cut.

 4.
You can embellish with a raffia bow if you like.

 5.
Use the wire to make a loop to hang the wreath.
Enjoy this beautiful natural wreath all the way through the Thanksgiving Holidays. Take Care and Have Fun, DAZ
